Natasha Shabani specializes in transactional intellectual property law with particular expertise advising new media companies. She advises clients on matters including software and trademark licensing; prosecution and enforcement of worldwide trademark portfolios; publishing; contests, sweepstakes and promotions; domain name registration and dispute resolution; copyright counseling; website design and development agreements, framing and linking agreements, terms of use and privacy policies; and, drafting and negotiating the intellectual property aspects of corporate transactions.
Previously, Natasha was Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs for a prominent Los Angeles-based interactive media agency. In this position, she drafted website design/development agreements, software/technology licenses, talent and crew contracts, and non-disclosure agreements; prepared sweepstakes and contest rules for on-line promotions; drafted website privacy policies/notices; and, advised account executives and project managers on copyright, trademark and other legal issues. Natasha is admitted to practice law in California and New York. She is fluent in Russian, enjoys spending time with her family and is a member of the first violin section of the Santa Monica Symphony.
Representative Transactions:
- Negotiated a license agreement on behalf of an upscale hair salon for sale of its hair care products in a major retail drugstore chain.
- Negotiated a production agreement for a DVD and pilot for a comedy skit.
- Negotiated license agreements with Hollywood landmark owners on behalf of a health and beauty company for a promotional campaign.
- Negotiated a talent agreement for television show appearance on behalf of an interior designer.
